TAMALES
As a traditional sign of family and friendship, we at Salvatex Foods have the distinct honor to bring to you all the Salvadoran Tamale! Our tamales are wrapped in banana leaf, and made with the same traditional ingredients that were used by our ancestors centuries ago! We cook our tamale in a way that not only respects our heritage, but also brings out the flavors of every ingredient we use, including the banana leaf!

Plantain empanadas
At Salvatex Foods we are delighted to introduce a Salvadoran delicacy with a storied history and centuries of tradition and culture! These aren't your typical empanadas, our empanadas are made from stuffed plantains and can be be eaten for either breakfast or dessert based on the filling chosen. Although plantain empanadas are naturally sweet, In El Salvador, we love to put a little extra sugar on top paired with a hot cup of coffee to give them an extra special touch!​​​

Pastelitos
​Here's another Salvadoran classic we know you will enjoy! Allow us to introduce you to the Salvadoran Pastelito, a savory meat pie made from fried corn dough and filled with a hefty helping of meat and vegetables. In El Salvador, we traditionally love to garnish our pastelitos with curtido (Salvadoran pickled cole slaw) and salsa (Salvadoran tomato sauce) to make this traditional street food the perfect snack or appetizer for any occasion.​

Atol
​​Now this is an exciting product rich in flavor, history, and culture! The Atol is a corn based drink made from sweet corn that dates all the way back to the ancient Mayans! Atol is enjoyed all through out Central America and Mexico as a hot drink perfect for cold weather or for late afternoons. Atol can be enjoyed alone or paired with sweets like pastries or, like we enjoy them in El Salvador, paired with a traditional Rigua.​​

Curtido
​What is curtido? Curtido is a pickled cole slaw that has a rich culinary history with deep roots pertaining to the indigenous peoples of El Salvador; most famously those from the Pipil and Lenca tribes of El Salvador. Curtido is the most popular side dish to many of El Salvador's most traditional foods like the pupusa! Curtido is best known for its tangy flavor thanks to the vinegar used to prepare this culturally significant dish. With similarities to both sauerkraut cole slaw, and kimichi, curtido makes for the perfect side to any Central American themed dish.
